The Camino Krk route starts from the island’s centre, the town of Krk, with the first day featuring a 23-kilometre long walk through olive trees plantation and to remains of church st. Mary. Than to Salatići Castle by fertile fields Kimpi all the way to Vrh. From Vrh through the Šotovento area, Skrbčići and Pinezići, around the St Jana bay all the way to the village of Brzac, the chapel of St. Peter.

The pilgrimage tour takes you on the day two from Brzac in Šotovento to Malinska in woods of Dubašnica. First point is Glavotok, the franciscan Monestary of Saint Mary. The dense forests surrounding Glavotok lead to the Church of St Chrysogonus above Čavlena Cove, a true gem of the island’s Romanesque architecture. Later on, pilgrims will come across the island’s biggest and oldest oak tree. A stroll by the sea leads to the viewpoint of Fumak, followed by village Porat and franciscan Monestary St Mary Magdalene, the cemetery St Apollinaire, villages St Anton, Milovčići, Žgombići, Kremenići with Chapel of St Andrew, the oldest preserved chapel in the area. The day two path ends in center of Malinska, in front of St Nikolaus church.

MALINSKA – OMIŠALJ

On the day three the pilgrimage starts in the heart of Malinska, by the sea in front of the St. Nikolaus Chapel and leads through Kijac and Njivice to Omišalj. To reach Kijac Bay we will enjoy a walk along the Paradise Trail seaside promenade on the western part of the Island. Upon arrival to Njivice we will reach the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A stroll towards Sepen Cove lead us by remains of the Roman town Fulfinum and an early cristian church at Mirine.
From the Bay of Pesja we have to climb to the Dubec Park Forrest and then dive int the heart of Omišalj and Church of St Helen and the Romanesque Parish Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

OMIŠALJ – ČIŽIĆI

The start of the day four is in Omišalj s green oasis Dubec Park. A pleasant walk to the northern tip of the island continues near a scattered village and the coast, i.e. the coves of Večja, Martinj and Lučica,passe4s by the Omišalj campsite, reaches the intersection for Rijeka Airport and climbs up through sparse vegetation to the Krk Bridge. At this point, the pilgrimage route descends to Voz Cove, passes by immortelle fields and proceeds to Slivanjska Bay near the Biserujka Cave. In the Municipality of Dobrinj, the pilgrimage route passes through Rudine and a woody area in the direction of Čižići. The last section of day four will bring you to the remains of St Peter’s Church.

ČIŽIĆI – VRBNIK

On the day five we proceed from Čižići along a coast of Meline, known for its black medicinal mud via Solineand through woods towards Dobrinj and Sv. Vid Dobrinjski. A prominent Baroque bell tower and the Holy Trinity Church are located not far from the Dobrinj parish church, where the old cemetery lies. The next pilgrimage point is located at the entrance to the nearby village of Sveti Vid Dobrinjski: the church of St. Vitus followed by Dolovo (sometimes also called Dolova), the abandoned village between Kras and Gostinjac. The route continues in the direction of south-east, taking you to the Vrbnik Municipality and Gradec, a castle hidden in the forest also known as Fort Rovoznik, the first estate of the Krk’s noble family of Frankopan. You will pass Risika towards the sea and pass a half way to Vrbnik along the coast and half way through the forrest.
DAY 6
VRBNIK – BAŠKA

The walk continues through the Vrbnik field, well known for its wineyards of Žlahtina and brings you to the source of the only brook on the island: Vela Rika. Nearby you will also find an impressive landscape with dry stone walls (’gromača’) leading to the so-called Moon Plateau that is connected to Baška by the Path to the Moon. Once arrived to Baška you will reach the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity, the Church of St Anthony of Padua, and St Mark’s Chapel, underneath which lie the remains of a monumental Early Christian basilica and a baptistery.

BAŠKA – KORNIĆ

On the day seven, the camino will take walkers from Baška via Jurandvor, Batomalj and Punat to the final destination – Kornić. Following Baška Glagolitic Trail sculptures you will arrive to Jurandvor and reach the church of St Lucy where the Table of Baška was found. It is the oldest glagolitic script made in year 1100. The route continues towards Batomalj where you will find one of the oldest croatian shrines. Onde you climbe to Veli vrh you will be able to see the Košljun Islet where franciscan monestary is settled and Kornić, the end point of Camino Krk. On your way to Punat, you will see the Stations of the Cross. The Toš Gallery and Stari Toš Olive Growing Interpretation Centre are well worth visiting, along with the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity and two votive churches dedicated to St Rocco and St Nicholas in Buka. The Camino Krk route ends with the last pilgrimage point being the Parish Church of St James the Apostle.
